IPHONE iOS 7: BATTERY SAVING TIPS BY JANG PARK / Sept. 14, 2013
Every new app installed will usually enable itself to run in the Background. This is a major power drainer if you don't need constant updating unless you're using a GPS app such as Google Maps, Waze, Nike Running, etc.
Set your Background App Refresh option for each app accordingly. Mine is set to only allow Waze and Nike Running. Make sure you kill the app after use.
Some people don't mind being tracked but most do. Limit your location based tracking by enabling the "Limit Ad Tracking" feature.
Feel free to not send Diagnostics and Usage information back to Apple. It saves data usage and power, as well as some privacy.
Disable Shared Calendar Alerts if your like me and don't use a shared calendar.
Keep it enabled if you depend on it, however.
System Services can be found under Location Services when you scroll to the bottom.
Disable all features if you wish. It will not in any way impact your iPhone's ability to function properly (at least for me).
Location anonymity/privacy.
Location Services are used to determine your GPS location. Many or rather most apps, don't require your location to function.
Similar to Background App Refresh, I only allow GPS related apps this feature such as Maps, Waze, Nike Running, etc.
Remember, your battery is used more intensively when GPS is running.
Remove unnecessary apps from the Notification Center. Keeping it simple will maximize your battery life.
Keep in mind, every app in the Notification Center is running in the background waiting for a data push from each app's service.
Enable the Reduce Motion feature to keep your screen still and save some battery life each time you tilt your phone in the Home window.
If you use the Mail app provided by iOS, one major function is the Push feature. Enabling the Push feature allows you to automatically receive alerts when a new email arrives.
Set it to "Off" and select Fetch "Manually" for your Mail app to update itself when you launch the Mail app in order to extend battery life. Otherwise, set the Fetch interval time to your liking if you keep Push ON.
